Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary has launched a new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Gandhinagar, set up by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU). This centre will offer over 40 online and hybrid courses to help students gain skills in areas like semiconductor manufacturing, solar energy, smart manufacturing, and other modern industries.
The courses are open to students from ITI, Diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs. The goal is to prepare them for jobs in fast-growing fields and give them hands-on training with the latest technologies.
“Universities should not just teach books, they should prepare students for the real world. We want our universities to help students become creative, skilled, and ready to support the nation’s growth,” said Shri Jayant Chaudhary.
NSDC’s CEO Shri Ved Mani Tiwari said this partnership will help young people become employable and ready for global jobs. “Through this initiative, students will learn skills in demand worldwide. It’s not just about jobs, it’s about building India’s future,” he added.
The Centre will also have special labs for students to practice working with semiconductors, renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, and more. It will also support research and connect students with real industry experience. PDEU will provide top-class training facilities, including a 45 MW solar panel manufacturing line and a semiconductor packaging unit, to help students learn in a real factory-like environment.
“We are proud to support Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s mission to make India self-reliant (Aatmanirbhar Bharat),” said PDEU Director General Prof. S Sundar Manoharan. “This centre will help thousands of students build strong careers in energy and manufacturing,” he added.
The NSDC will make sure that the training runs smoothly and gives students the right skills for the jobs of tomorrow. This new centre is a big step in preparing India’s youth for modern industries and helping the country become a global leader in technology and energy.
